Youth Sports Trust Projects

Here at Durham Trinity School & Sports College we work very closely with the Youth Sports Trust.  We have been identified as a centre of excellent practice and our role and impact can be seen across the county and further afield.

In this section you can find information of the projects and the work we do with the Youth Sport Trust.

Lead Inclusion School

This is a Youth Sport Trust initiative to promote inclusive opportunities for young people in PE and school sport relating to the school games and beyond.

To work with others to support them to provide inclusive competition and strengthen entry and exit pathways to school games and regular competition.

To provide regular training advice and guidance for the school sport workforce on Inclusive practice, to deliver the inclusive PE training programme (IPE).

To raise aspirations and to lead the way in developing inclusive leadership through Step into Sport and Durham County leadership academy.

To promote TOPS sports ability.

To promote Active in Mind, and emotional, health and wellbeing project.

To promote the development of Motor Activity Training Programme (MATP) in partnership with Special Olympics UK.

To promote Girl’s sport.

To promote pathways for talented youngsters.

To promote school club links.

    Community Club Links

    Durham Trinity have some amazing local community club links.  Students have been involved with clubs such as Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Durham Cricket Club and Sunderland Beacon of Light.
