Auckland

Auckland Class is part of the Key Stage 4 department.

Pupils in this class are in Year 10 and 11 and have a range of special educational needs including severe learning difficulties and Autism. The class is supported by two Teaching Assistants and one 1:1 Support worker.

The class teacher teaches most of the curriculum, which is Semi-Formal. Specialist teaching is delivered in PE, RSE and Design Technology.

We focus on functional maths and Literacy as well as life skills.

We work towards ASDAN Accreditation Entry 1 level in Personal Progress

Auckland class uses a total communication approach. We use flexible seating in class and incorporate lots of movement breaks throughout the day. Pupils in this class benefit from having a class based curriculum.
